Responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides direction while maintaining the operating condition of all buildings and equipment.

  2. Responsible for directing permanent and/or temporary employees in conducting maintenance, service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical or vehicle servicing.

  3. Provides daily direction to permanent and/or temporary employees in order to accomplish specific projects or tasks. Monitors employee work for productivity, quality and completion and make recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor regarding staff assignments.

  4. Utilizes knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating and cooling skills in performing assignments.

  5. Operates common hand or power tools.

  6. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.

  7. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.

  8. Supports all maintenance standards within the district.

  9. Supports and helps maintain a safe and secure working environment in the facilities.

  10. Performs light maintenance duties within the facilities (light bulbs, painting, etc.).

  11. Responsible for performing and directing facility and grounds upkeep and repairs.

  12. Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Education:

  1. Must be able to work overtime as required.

  2. Must be on call 24/7.

  3. Must have valid driver’s license.

  4. Must be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in areas of specialties.

  5. Must have an understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.

  6. Basic knowledge of trade skills (carpentry, mechanical, electrical).

  7. Strong organizational and verbal communication skills required.

  8. Ability to use hand and power tools and to work independently.

  9. Education / Experience: High school diploma or equivalent trade school / At least 3 years work experience.
