Responsibilities

Director –Continuous Improvement and Chief-of-Staff, Secure Destruction

The Director of Continuous Improvement and Chief-of-Staff, Secure Destruction, is a key member of the Secure Destruction Leadership Team (LT) and will be instrumental in providing insights, guidance and coordination to the LT with heavy focus on critical strategy and initiatives to drive profitable growth across Secure Destruction. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Secure Destruction, Director of Continuous Improvement and Chief-of-Staff, Secure Destruction, is a trusted and empowered leader who assists the Secure Destruction SVP & GM with financial, operational and general management activities and serves as the focal point for matters of collaboration among the Secure Destruction leadership team, while also serving as the principle point of coordination with the broader NA Records & Information Management (R&IM) team, corporate support groups and adjacent business units. Highly influential, this position requires significant collaboration with senior leadership across North America, in addition to strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead change and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategy Development and Execution: Become focal point for Secure Destruction strategy development and associated Playbook, as connected to the Enterprise strategy. This will be done through collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding across all Secure Destruction leaders. In order to effectively drive to completion, this individual will assist owners with tactical plan development as needed. This role also plays a key role collaborating SVP and the Secure Destruction leadership team to develop workforce plans to drive safety culture, while optimizing key operational levers, including resource utilization, capital allocation and real estate footprint.

  • Thought Leadership: Share insights on industry and market intelligence to drive innovation. Provide perspective and points of view on strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities, and collaborate with the Secure Destruction team develop strategic plans to support Secure Destruction’s mission. Represent the Secure Destruction business at key corporate meetings and serve as a proxy for the SVP as requested.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead select strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth, increase contribution margins and delivers increased process efficiency for the entire business. Create and lead operational rhythms to drive visibility and accountability to financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, productivity and cost. Identify and create mechanisms to share and adopt best practices across Secure Destruction, NA RIM and Iron Mountain.

  • Complex Communication: Collaborate with corporate communications team to design and execute communications about Secure Destruction to internal and external stakeholders including employees, C-Suite executives, customers, Board of Directors, Analysts and Investors. Own all Secure Destruction leadership and planning forums and communication channels including Monthly Calls, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), annual planning meetings, All-Hands, etc., enhancing the business unit leader communications platform, and assessing the overall effectiveness of our communications across the team. Manage action item registers and action trackers to ensure execution on Secure Destruction commitments.

  • External Focus: Represent Secure Destruction at key customer meetings, industry conferences and trade association events, deliver key messages on behalf of the SVP and ensure customer requests and follow up items are documented and actioned in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Education  Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in engineering, business or related field.  Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred

  • Background/ Experience  10+ years of progressive leadership in field operations, customer fulfillment and/or business unit management  5+ years of experience in leading Continuous Improvement (CI) and delivering measurable results  Demonstrated project management skills and experience leading complex projects  Plant Management and operations experience preferred

  • Change Management and Continuous Improvement  Strong written/verbal communications, executive communications  Trusted advisor to senior executives  Ability to provide to influence, leadership and guidance to field leaders at all levels  Teamwork and Collaboration  Ability to simplify complex information to communicate to various audiences  Flexibility to take on a wide range of initiatives and manage multiple projects  Business acumen  High-level of: professionalism, strong organizational, resourcefulness and management skills

Location : Atlanta preferred, Remote candidates will be considered
