The Opportunity

We are looking for a Director of Market Analytics & Insights to lead our strategic market insights and analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead a new team of market research and analytics professionals, with oversight for multiple areas within market intelligence and insight, as well as business analytics. The Director will report to the VP of Corporate Strategy, and will partner closely with executives across the organization to address key business questions, enhance decision making, and identify emerging trends.

The Role

  • You will set and refine the charter strategic focus for the market insights and analytics team

  • Hire, develop, and mentor a team of experienced data and market analysts to deliver valuable data-driven insights and recommendations

  • Identify and procure analytics tools and secondary data to enable and support critical analyses

  • Partner closely with strategy, finance, sales, operations, marketing, product, and innovation to deliver market intelligence and insights, critical thinking, and analytical rigor to inform and guide strategic choices across the business; increase the adoption of data-driven and analytics-driven approaches for decision making by functions

  • Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of project specific as well as exploratory market and customer insights, leveraging primary and secondary data sources

  • Drive the creation of data-driven forecasts to inform opportunity assessments and forecasts

  • Collaborate with strategy and internal stakeholders to ensure insights are actionable and drive measurable business impact

  • Recommend areas of focus for team based on strategic trajectory of company and how Analytics & Insights can propel action and goal achievement

Required experience/background

  • Bachelor's degree, graduate degree preferred, preferably in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Market Research, or related disciplines

  • 5+ years of experience leading or serving on teams involved with the business analytics/insights generation/forecasting function, including a successful history of collaborating with executive leadership teams on cross-functional / cross-BU projects and initiatives

  • Extensive experience framing strategic questions to be answered by market research and analysis in a way to lead to measurable business impact

  • Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable recommendations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to present research results in a clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization, up to and including the CEO

  • High degree of familiarity and comfort with advanced analytics tools

  • Advanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies and applications, including an strong familiarity with relevant data sources

  • Track record of hiring and developing high quality team members

  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, matrix and cross-functional environment with changing priorities and ability to influence senior level leaders and stakeholders
