Responsibilities

To lead the global Internal Communications team, build and execute a communications strategy aligned to our growth plans, which enables our employees to ‘experience the strategy’, create excitement about our business and drive the evolution of our culture to position us for success in the future.

  • Build the global internal communications strategy and team, including messages storyboards, audience segmentation, tone of voice, channels and team structure and hiring.

  • Manage and measure the execution and impact of our communication channels globally, encouraging the right amount of ‘push’ or ‘pull’ communication, providing our employees with a voice in our organisation

  • Create a community of ‘Communication story hunters’ across the global business, enabling our messages to represent the size and scale of our organisation

  • Create a message, story board that outlines how we talk about our business, the language we use to provide and celebrate updates, being the champion of our Internal Employer Value Proposition

  • To design and utilise communication programmes that embed and support our culture transformation. Embedding the ‘Create-Compete’ culture.

  • To update and roll out a new ‘tone of voice’ for our internal communications, making the communication more authentic and consistent with how we want to talk to our external customers, making our external and internal brand come to life

  • To develop and update a global Crisis Communication toolkit and plan, preparing us for any crisis in the business.

  • To build and deliver a communications training programme and toolkit, enabling leaders in the business to improve their communication impact and consistency of message

  • Deliver experiential events for our internal teams, embedding our strategy, culture and celebrating success

  • Building and leading a global Internal Communications team, with the ability to reach and engage our mix front line, virtual and office based teams.

  • Work alongside business leaders to communicate change in an effective way, ensuring we obtain buy-in and take our audiences with us during these critical projects.

  • Building a strong relationship with the CEO and his Chief of Staff, to develop the ability to authentically present him to the organisation through our communication channels and messages.

  • Management of the Internal Communications budget

  • Management of budget connected to delivering internal events

  • Authority over communication messages and channels

Resources:

  • Team of 8 Internal Communication specialists

  • Community of ‘Communication Story Hunters’ globally needs to be created

  • HRBP’s available to support and be trained on communications

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – story teller

  • Bias toward action; highly decisive

  • Highly collaborative; able to partner at all levels in the company – up, down, and sideways

  • Exceptional influence skills; modifies approach based on situation (ie. personal, cultural,).

  • Able to lead and drive change

  • Strong personal ethics and values, low ego

  • Strong knowledge of social media

  • Strategic thinking and ability to connect communication strategy to business strategy

  • Strong global leadership and experience with an understanding of, appreciation for and ability to be effective with differences in market dynamics, cultures, communities and leadership styles.

  • Experience in leading Global Communication functions in other global organisations

  • Comfortable operating in a matrix; experience doing so successfully.

  • Successful track record of providing value added service to internal and/or external clients creating solutions based on based on business need
