Systems Engineer - 100% onsite in Boyers, PA

The Systems Engineer is responsible for systems implementation pertaining to technology, IT and engineering related projects, solutions and maintenance initiatives. The Systems Engineer will be largely involved in supporting new and existing solutions within the Studio associated with, but not limited to: audio, video, data, imaging and film preservation. They will also support pure-IT functions, such as networking, infrastructure, and computer systems maintenance. The Systems Engineer will need to have an in-depth understanding and expertise in IT, media workflows, data restoration, photographic media imaging, video digitization/transcoding/conversion, audio digitization and motion picture film scanning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Extensive involvement in the solution development / workflow development of projects, along with all DevOps operations that occur during the lifecycle of a project.

Management, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of core Media and Archive Services application servers, NAS/SAN storage environments, tape libraries, and networking infrastructure.

Administrative understanding of the following Operating Systems: Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Linux (CentOS), Mac OS (current and legacy versions).

Managing firmware, driver, and security updates (Tenable, Tanium and Cloudstrike).

Service Now Ticket facilitation for networking and firewall change requests/controls.

Staying up to date with current and upcoming technologies and trends that can enhance Media and Archive Services capabilities and service offerings.

Create and maintain engineering documentation for projects including hardware, software, and licensing.

Managing internal and client data backup to LTO.

Maintaining accurate inventory and asset tags of all studio infrastructure, equipment and hardware.

Strong understanding of network topology, switching and firewalls.

Cable installation, fabrication and management (CAT6, fiber, coax).

General technical support for a Studio Operations staff.

Systems maintenance and troubleshooting (Corporate and non-Corporate, Mac, Windows, Linux - from legacy to current gen) including iPads, printers, barcode scanners, and flatbed scanners; iOS device configuration and updates.

Maintaining, upgrading current network infrastructure (Corporate and non-Corporate) and deploying new infrastructure as necessary.

Signiant Media Shuttle administration for digital file delivery/managed file delivery to clients.

Serving as a technical SME for staff, clients and internal counterparts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years’ experience working with technology, IT, or engineering in a globally dispersed organization.

Associate/Bachelor degree (Computer Science, IT, or relevant field of study or experience) from a college or university.

Media workflow experience; Scripting and automation experience (Python, Shell, etc) is a plus.

Strong interest in media preservation (audio, video, data, photography and film).

Participation in agile/scrum projects in fast-paced development environments.

Keen analytical and problem-solving skills.

Well established communication and documentation skills; Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.

Strong understanding of Studio and/or Post Production technologies, equipment and infrastructure.

Strong understanding of IT service management.

Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills.

The ability to work in a matrix environment.

Maintain a strong working relationship with 3rd party partners/vendors.

Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
