We have a new vacancy for a Bid Manager to support our global sales teams by managing responses to RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Information, Tenders & Bids) documents, including global opportunities as needed. This role may also support large or complex proactive sales proposals.
The Bid Manager provides process governance and support for account teams and develops consistent, timely and winning proposals for the commercial and public sectors. The Bid Manager manages customer-facing documents from initial kick-off through submission, including writing key sections, editing the document and ensuring that submissions meet response requirements.
What you will do
Manage the completion of proposals in line with defined proposal processes and best practices, ensuring proposals are customer focused and articulate value.
Acting as the project manager for each assigned proposal, including setting and maintaining timelines and deliverables.
Analyse customer needs and business drivers to define proposal win themes focused on differentiation and value.
Communicating with designated subject matter experts to develop and write non-standard responses to RFP questions.
Closing out proposal opportunities by documenting hours and uploading final submission in Salesforce.com and adding completed proposals to Google Drive.
Contributing new and updating existing content to maintain robust library of standard responses.
Assisting sales with creation of RFP questions and strategy for customers prior to release of a formal RFP.
Providing presentation support to sales teams, including messaging, slide creation and development of other presentation materials.
Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of all company products and services and their corresponding value proposition.
What you will bring to the role
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
Fluency in English written and verbal communication.
Significant experience managing proposals following a defined proposal process for commercial and public sectors.
Demonstrable experience with and knowledge of proposal best practices.
Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills, presentation experience and familiarity with style guides rules (AP Stylebook, BBC News Style Guide, Oxford Style Manual).
Excellent project management skills and able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preference on experience with content management systems and the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign.
Familiarity with service-based solution selling, with preference on knowledge of Iron Mountain products and services, or records management and digital solutions.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail required.
APMP certification beneficial.
