Responsibilities

This position is responsible for analytical review in the areas of General Ledger and AR Reportingfor the North American Organization (US and Canada). This includes the accurate and complete review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations, P&L Flux Analysis, Journal Entries, Quarterly Analysis etc. In addition for AR Reporting this person will perform detail accuracy and complete review of Daily Revenue Adjustments, SKP to Oracle Revenue Reconciliation, Prepare Monthly or Quarterly Management reports, and all other AR related reconciliations and reports.

  • This candidate will need to become proficient with the general ledger system (Oracle) and subsystems (specifically A/P, A/R, and SafeKeeper Plus), in addition to Cadency (our third party offshore team’s GL system).

  • They will need to develop a sound understanding of accounting cycles and related process/system flows in order to be able to successfully understand and review work performed by our offshore team in Bangalore, India.

  • This position includes handling of multiple tasks and shifting focus when required, while taking a proactive role in problem identification and resolution and process enhancements. This is a salaried, exempt position.

  • Analytical Review of specified Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations that are prepared and given first level review by Cap Gemini. This role is to ensure that review is complete and to give an analytical review while following and enforcing accounting policies and processes.

  • Analytical Review of the Monthly Exception Reports which provides a written financial analysis of the P&L for month over month fluctuations of designated accounts for revenue and expenses. The preparation is done by Cap Gemini and this role will need to ensure the explanations are proper and are in adherence with GAAP.

  • Details and accurate review of all AR related reports including AR aging, Daily Adjustment, SKP to Oracle report, AR securitization, General Reserve, Specific Reserve, Credit Memo, DSO and other Bad Debt reports. These reports are prepared by Cap Gemini and this role will be responsible to ensure reports are accurate and adequately supported.

  • Analytical Review of Monthly/Quarterly Journal Entries greater than $1M along with reviewing Supporting Schedules

  • Perform other duties and special projects directed by management, such as Hyperion Report Pack, Quarterly True Up Review, Support Cap Gemini Team as well as Iron Mountain Corporate and Operations when needed

Qualifications

This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills. Accuracy and attention to details are critical. The candidate must be able to set priorities and have the ability to meet numerous different deadlines from multiple sources. Ability to identify process improvements. Extensive use of computer applications, especially Excel and accounting systems is required. Oracle, Hyperion, is a plus.

  • This position will have no direct reports nor will they be responsible for leading others. Professionalism, tact and a proactive nature are required as well as the confidence to make tough decisions to carry out policies and procedures for the better of the department/company.

  • Problem Solving can range from routine accounting issues to complex ones that arise from various sources such as internal (field and Corporate) and external customers (auditors). The ability to gather, interpret and make sound decisions based on that information is required.

  • This position requires review of financial data to ensure it compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes Oxley.

  • This position impacts the Accounting and AR Reporting Departments within the Shared Service Organization which is part of the North American Organization as well as working closely with our 3rd party offshore team Cap Gemini in Bangalore, India
