Responsibilities

Senior Production Support Engineer

Summary:

This role will be in the “Records and Information Management (RIM) Solutions and Product Engineering”, organization. This team is responsible for engineering solutions for managing our customer’s physical assets, this includes both ‘front office’ applications use by our customers, as well as ‘back office’ applications, used by Iron Mountain employees. This organization is instrumental in continuing to transform and expand Iron Mountain's relevance as a global Information Management Services provider.

The Senior Production Support Engineer will provide support for a diverse suite of applicationsthat includes web service client, thick client application; web based and mobile applications, hosted both internally and on the cloud managed by various vendors; internal applications mostly written in Java and open source technologies. The ideal candidate with have both software development and support experience in Java and spring framework, working with highly concurrent systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Technical lead and oversite of other engineers.

  • Leads/ manages troubleshooting sessions that includes diverse groups; ownership of issue until resolved.

  • Technical lead in quality oriented design, code and testing of defects fixes

  • Technical lead in the design, code, testing of utility applications and scripts

  • Participate in design discussions about the technical implementation and consider the tradeoffs to support business value, scalability and delivery timeline.

  • Works with deployment teams to deploy solutions.

  • Develops unit tests with a test driven mindset

  • Debugs and addresses performance issues

  • Designs and codes for security considerations, anticipates security risks

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting and problem solving skills with a track record of delivering support of enterprise grade systems in a team environment.

  • Motivated individual and self-starter who learns quickly, takes ownership, has pride in supporting as well as building new products and can engage others to accelerate technical solutions.

  • Ability to work with and guide diverse groups to troubleshoot and resolve issues; infrastructure, vendors, business, development, quality assurance, business analysts, support, developers.

  • Experience with supporting mobile applications and using Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) systems a plus.

  • Understanding of infrastructure components a plus (e.g. load balancers, firewalls)

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with working with distributed teams

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of application support and development; work experience with new and legacy applications, and integrations between systems.

  • 3 years of experience working with agile scrum methodologies

  • Experience with Languages: Java, Servlet, XML, shell scripting (e.g. Bash), SQL

  • Experience with Enterprise Technologies: J2EE,Web Services, REST, Spring, JMS, Enterprise Container (Jboss/Tomcat/etc)

  • Experience with Databases: Oracle/SQL Server, JDBC

  • Experience with OS: Linux, Windows a plus

  • Experience with Software Design methodologies: OOAD, Design Pattern, UML

  • Experience with software management tools nice to have: Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, ANT/Maven, Subversion

  • Education : BS, MS or MBA from accredited/recognized university
