A Mobile Shred Operator is the public face of Iron Mountain, trusted to transport and handle client materials and engage with clients and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. This important team member drives a company Mobile Shred Vehicle, transporting materials from client and Iron Mountain locations. A Mobile Shred Operator loads and unloads with a variety of mechanisms, uses wireless scanning technology, prepares paperwork and performs daily maintenance on the Mobile Shred Vehicle to ensure its efficient operation. This position calls for a significant degree of strength and stamina.We pay by the hour, not the mile.
Communicates in a friendly professional manner with clients and co-workers
Operates and maintains Mobile Shred Vehicle safely and efficiently (both manual or standard transmission)
Handles all physical requirements for loading, transporting and driving without assistance (details below)
Executes accurate and timely handling of client delivery and shredding requests
Prepares accurate paperwork and records
Climb/step-up into a truck cab
Grip, lift, push, pull, and carry wheeled, plastic bins over, up and down inclines, stairs, varying walking surfaces and elevation
Lift at least 70 pounds
Walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Current experience in customer service or a service industry
Two or more years’ route transportation experience preferred
Must be at least 21 years old with a valid CLASS 5 AB driver’s license and a good driving record and be able to pass a background check
Demonstrate safe/efficient driving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
Can adhere to and enforce all security procedures
