To that end, our Warehouse Art Handler's are responsible for ensuring safety and integrity in packing, crating, and storage of fine art collections for our customers. In addition to physical requirements, this role also provides leadership and guidance during projects while acting as a liaison between clients and company managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle and move artworks. Install/de-install artworks in the warehouse viewing gallery using proper techniques and tools

  • Use appropriate techniques/materials for wrapping, packing and crating of items such as furniture, dec-arts, etc.

  • Conduct inventory checks and inspection reports for various types of art objects

  • Operating inventory scanning equipment

  • Load/unload trucks to ensure safe transit of all items.

  • Oversees receipt, storage, moves, and shipment of artworks, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures

  • Maintain the organization and the operational integrity tools and materials while also ensuring the safe operation of tools and machinery

  • Assist other Crozier Departments and Warehouses as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 year of Art/Artifact Handling in Warehouse, Gallery, Museum or Commercial Art Company experience or Associates Degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies or related field

  • Minimum: High School Diploma

  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • Industry knowledge of standard packing, crating, and installation techniques and materials

  • Skills - communicate effectively/efficiently with clients and coworkers; attention to detail; discretion; follow-through; team player; self-motivated

  • Prior experience using various tools and equipment such as pallet jacks, j-bars, gantry and dollies is considered a plus. (* _Forklift certificate not required_ .*)

  • Lift and move heavy objects (in excess of 75 lbs), bend, kneel, crouch, stand
