JOB DESCRIPTION
IRON MOUNTAIN is looking for a Critical Facilities Operations Technical Support Engineer to support the data centers operation team for the Manassas, VA campus with a focus administrative organization for the operations teams. As a key player in IRON MOUNTAIN’s Critical Operations team, the Critical Facilities Technical support engineer is responsible for developing and supporting critical programs that drive Maintenance, productivity, knowledge, and efficiency in field operations. In addition to supporting and expanding the Data Center operations platform, this candidate will also support the critical facilities team while on-site.
Candidate will be a successful organizer with a proven track record of success.
Essential Functions
50% of the work week the candidate will focus on the following functions:
Research, recommend and design employee onboarding training and development programs that span the life cycle of each position. This includes the delivery, measurement, and monitoring of programs.
Development of Service Now tickets, content, delivery, and support for maintenance activities.
Implement and manage the overall IMDC role-based training program
Conduct needs assessments and work with operations team members
Act as a facilitator and instructor for the Operations teams.
50% of the work week the candidate will focus on the following functions:
Monitor and operate IMDC’s critical power, cooling/environmental, security and support systems and facilities to exceed up-time SLA
Perform limited maintenance tasks to include: filter changes, PM’s on electrical and mechanical systems, install disconnects and deliver power to customers
Support critical facilities team in vendor scheduling, CMMS, and related tasks including work authorization and security requests
Maintain and organize critical facilities documentation in file structure; assist in documentation related to audits
Act as Service Now SME; create changes, standard change templates, preventative maintenance tickets, input new equipment
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Workforce Education and Development, Organizational Development, Vocational, Education or related discipline
3 to 5+ years’ experience working within and/or managing an effective organizational training and development program
Certifications in training program manager, instructor/facilitator or equivalents preferred
Strong program and project management skills and experience
Ability to train managers, supervisors, and leads to deliver job specific training programs to targeted groups of employees
Work closely with vendors, field technicians, and other telecommunications carriers to resolve service issues and improvements.
Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including use of an amp-meter. Identify, research and support process improvement actions related to data center services.
Understand major and minor UPS and related systems’ Preventative Maintenance.
Basic knowledge of building management systems
Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. Work environment: flexible based on needs, some remote work option available
