Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Controls Engineer is the Iron Mountain Data Centers (IMDC) in-house resource for all IMDC Building Maintenance Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems, and as part of the IMDC Global BMS Team will install, modify, maintain, and troubleshoot the various hardware and software that makes up the IMDC Global BMS.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Perform hardware and software integration of HVAC, Electrical, and other data center equipment into the IMDC Global BMS using Automated Logic’s WebCTRL software and hardware. (50%)

  • Provide technical service & support for existing PLC hardware and software for all IMDC sites (20%)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve reported field issues with ALC BMS software and hardware at all IMDC sites (remote and on-site) (20%)

  • Provide user technical support for the IMDC Global BMS (remote and on-site) (10%)

  • Perform configuration and troubleshooting of fieldbus communications (Bacnet, Modbus, OPC, etc.)

  • Perform basic functional testing of PID loops, redundancy features, and other control functions

  • Create custom control programming and graphics for equipment integration into the Global BMS

  • Compile and download logic configuration to PLCs and control modules

  • Perform in-house BMS integration projects with technical supervision

  • Maintain accurate As-Built drawings by submitting “red line” documents

  • Perform calibration of systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop computer

  • Read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets

  • Assist with generating, editing and reviewing technical documentation

  • Assist with testing new hardware, software and applications

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Work location is AZP-1 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Qualifications

  • Have a background and/or education in one of the following: Control systems or electrical engineering, electrical or electronic engineering technology.

  • Experience with PLC Hardware preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Travel as required to support Iron Mountain sites, could be as much as 25 - 40% of time.
