The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of construction projects for the Iron Mountain Data Center business (IMDC). The incumbent will lead a team of construction managers, and contractors. The incumbent will assist in the development of and adherence to annual capital budgets and aggressive timelines. Budgets will be developed in cooperation with IMDC business clients, Real Estate, and finance.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep experience in:
Managing and supervising an inter-disciplinary project team.
Developing and managing detailed budgets and schedules.
Ability to cost estimate complex projects and identifies way to drive down costs.
Design, operation, and construction experience with complex critical infrastructure or military mechanical, electrical, and IT systems.
Conducting design and construction meetings with external professional, internal Iron Mountain employees, and external Iron Mountain customers.
Managing bid processes, approving change orders, and processing payments.
Auditing installed data center components. This audit will be used to verify the completion of the job scope by the vendor in addition to verifying the design documentation for the build-out and ongoing operations of the data centers.
Ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
Ensuring constant product delivery in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptime
Knowledge of NFPA standards and building codes.
Experience with commissioning and integrated testing of complex systems.
Developing and reviewing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all critical project work activities in existing data center facilities.
Job Requirements
Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, business/finance or equivalent is required. Advanced degree in a related field is strongly preferred. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years in the delivery of construction projects and client facing positions in a corporate real estate or military setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management and real estate budgeting/accounting
Ability to work productively in environment requiring multi-tasking and working against deadlines
Experience with contract and vendor management.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills
Preference for operating with substantial independence and strongly self- motivated
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to interface effectively with clients, peers across Iron Mountain and Iron Mountain senior management
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Strong influencing skills through the use of facts and logical arguments and the development of trusting relationships with clients
Ability to deal with conflict in a constructive manner
Ability to brain storm in teams and think outside of the box

Potential to travel up to 20% of the time as business needs require.
