Our drivers are the public face of Iron Mountain, trusted to transport and handle client materials and engage with clients and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. Drivers are responsible for driving a company vehicle to transport materials from client and Iron Mountain locations; loading and unloading through a variety of mechanisms; using wireless scanning technology; preparing paperwork and performing daily vehicle maintenance to ensure it functions efficiently. This position calls for a significant amount of physical strength and stamina. We pay by the hour, not the mile.

Job Summary

The Secure Shred CDL Driver is responsible for building business partnerships with customers, is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and focuses on customer retention with an account ownership mentality. Ensures assets are transported in a secure and safe manner. Complies with all DOT requirements while operating company vehicles safely and courteously. Follows safe work practices and takes responsibility for his/her personal safety and watches out for the safety of others. Uses proper tools/equipment, and adheres to all safe work practices and policies in addition to the client’s safety guidelines.

Education, licenses or certificates required: High School Diploma/ G.E.D required

Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, demonstrate safe and efficient driving skills and be able to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT regulated vehicles.

Ability to communicate at high efficiency and effectiveness with clients and operations staff. Ability to respond quickly to changing demands.

Identify opportunities to solicit new business and increase business revenue through selling new items and/or services to current customers and obtaining new customers.

Must have good interpersonal skills and customer service skills acquired through 1-2 years of experience in a position requiring heavy public contact.

Job Requirements

  • Climb/step-up into a truck cab

  • Grip, lift, push, pull, and carry wheeled, plastic bins over, up and down inclines, stairs, changes in walking surfaces and elevations

  • Lift at least 70 lbs.

  • Walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

  • Be able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening, a background check and a DOT physical

  • Demonstrate safe and efficient driving skills

  • At least one year of route transportation experience is preferred

  • Computer proficiency

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork

  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills

  • Commitment to adhere and enforce all security procedures
