Responsibilities

The Industrial Engineer will leadership to field based management teams to improve their team’s performance, production, service and quality. The IE will serve as the subject matter expert for operations management across multiple business lines during field-based optimization projects. This position will review project baseline measurements, provide recommendations for workflow improvements, job station set up, review daily/weekly operating plans, recommend improvements to the daily/weekly operation plan and coach leadership to achieve higher performance. The Industrial Engineer is responsible for working on cross-functional teams to perform problem analysis, engineer and re-engineer a wide variety of business processes across multiple business lines. The IE will provide detailed analysis for transportation network re-engineering, warehouse (record center and data protection vaults) workflow re-design and shred plant facility optimization. This position will also develop engineered work standards and work targets using the MOST system and will introduce 5S/Lean principles throughout all physical business workflows. This IE shall be a Change Leader that others can easily follow and collaborate with.

  • Strategy – The Industrial Engineer will facilitate improved leadership and team performance within field markets. This IE will provide the lead analyst role in driving improvements in labor productivity and workflow improvements.

  • Tactical – The Industrial Engineer will define ‘as-is” and “to-be” models, perform gap analysis, and devise action plans based on overarching process models or master operating plans. This position will develop standard operating procedures, validate the processes and report on status of implementation. In addition, this position will work cross-function teams to develop end-to-end workflow processes as well as process documentation. The IE will manage the pilot, rollout, evaluation and assessment of re-engineered processes.

  • Culture & Communications – The Industrial Engineer will interact with decision-makers to manage expectations and create synergy in efficiencies. The IE will provide strong technical support to operational staff on best practices. Where needed, coach local management to improve improved team performance and analyze statistical data to determine standards and process requirements as well as quality metrics.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three plus years in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering required.IEexperiencein Transportation, Distribution Centerenvironmentexperiencea plus.Green Belt / Black Belt a plus. Experience with Transportation routing software / concepts a plus.

  • Ability to apply decisions, and to think in broad terms, considering the impact of decisions across the entire company.

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the Iron Mountain Enterprise.

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.

Demonstrated success in re-engineering, ability to produce enduring, effective solutions to business problems; benchmarking, project management
