Responsibilities

Iron Mountain is looking for a person with communications or fundraising experience to support its Government Affairs team in Washington, D.C. This person will report to the Director , Federal - Government Affairs but will also support the Director, State & Local Government Affairs and the Vice President, North America Government Affairs.

Qualifications

  • Coordinate CEO and other executive visits with elected officials and policymakers in Washington, DC and around the country, and assist in preparing related briefing books.

  • Coordinate facility visits and other grassroots events.

  • Coordinate activities for the Iron Mountain Employees Political Action Committee (PAC), including solicitations, budget, and Government Affairs team attendance at candidate events.

  • Monitor the campaigns of candidates supported by the PAC and provide regular updates.

  • Create content for internal and external communications including social media posts, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, fact sheets and PAC solicitation materials.

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct research to develop and maintain general knowledge of legislative, public policy, and current events related to Iron Mountain.

  • Assist the Government Affairs team with research on federal or state level decision makers and legislation.

  • Assist the Government Affairs team with managing the office including managing vendors for supplies and subscriptions, liaison with property manager, planning and arranging for internal and external meetings and conference calls.

  • Monitor and track legislation and related hearings and votes on a variety of legislative issues

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in State or Federal legislatures, campaign activity, event planning, advocacy, or political communications; work in the private sector or large organizations a plus.

  • Position is located in Washington, D.C.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required- Communications, Political Science or Business Degree preferred

  • Experience in SharePoint and Excel preferred
